Peacemaking in the University
Through your partnership, 68 grad students had the opportunity to spent time reflecting on how God might be calling them to be peacemakers in the university. In the midst of what appears to be increasing polarization in our country and world, our speaker, Dr. Boaz Johnson from North Park University, took us through God’s heart for spreading shalom and challenged us to think creatively about how we might take part in what he’s doing. Here’s some of what the students had to say about the retreat:
“The retreat opened my eyes to some of the issues around the world”
“Gained a new perspective on the Biblical concept ofpeacemaking”
“Peacemaking involves generous giving of yourself beyond what is expected”
We’re thinking through how to contextualize what we learned on campus, but we already have a few ideas that we’re testing out, including our current small group focus on Biblical Justice. Please pray for wisdom as we engage the campus and as we prepare small group curriculum for later in the year addressing difficult questions and doubts about faith.
